Well what a first six months we have had. We have sent a container to West Papua, East Timor and Samoa. With Samoa we are computerizing the whole education system in this nation. Pre, Primary, High and College.
Our Tech has just returned he is so impressed with the project he has offered to join the Club. He will be spending 4 to 6 months of the year overseas training locals in maintaining the computer we send to them.
We are now looking to installing a local network (not the WWW) as the churches have a large say and they are not in favour of the WWW. So we are looking at installing a intranet (local) only.

We have since December 26th 2004 sent 3x20 foot and 3x40 foot containers to Sri Lanka with a variety of items to help with the reconstruction. Another 40' was sent in December 2005

This project has earned us a nomination for a Lions International Award. We are one of three finalists for this award which will be presented at the Hong Kong convention. We have also received an outstanding club banner patch from our district.

Being nominated is in itself a tremendous buzz for the club and I thank those who thought enough of the project to nominate us for it. We have now received a Merit award from International for our efforts.

The club has also been nominated for a Prime Ministers Award for our Work for the Dole Project we run.

2006 For Cyclone relief we have dispatched over 95 metric tonnes to Innisfail where Lion Neil Clark (mayor) has distributed it to the comunity.

2007 ... 3 containers of Aid has been sent to Boganville Island at the end of the Papua/New Guinea

Commited ourselves to send 200 Hospital beds to Ghana this is a joint effort with the Austalian Royal College of Surgeons to raise funds to build the hospital and send the beds and other equipment. Freight cost will be in the vicinity of $50,000 Australian

This project is large as there are 1600 clients in the area we are to service in South-East Queensland We have 4 Work for the Dole Projects on the go at the moment and have successfully completed 6 in the last 18 months. this raises the money to send containeers overseas.
